Episode 3

Posted by thatswhatsheread in Uncategorized

In the latest episode of That's What She Read, Ravena talked about two of her more recent reads, including Cynful by Dana Marie Bell and The Favor by Megan Hart. I gave quick reviews of Lost Code by Kevin Emerson, Faithful Place by Tana French and The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved by Hunter S. Thompson, as well as a mention of Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides (current read).

The song we sampled at the beginning is Lovely 2 C U by Goldfrapp.

Episode 1, The One Where We Just Hit Record

Posted by thatswhatsheread in Uncategorized, books, literature, fanfic

Back in October 2011, Ravena and I tried to combine a book club with book review podcasting. The combination of trying to figure out how to host audio and a series of less than impressive books (because who wants to hear 3-4 negative podcasts in a row) led me to shelve the idea. We're giving the podcast idea another go and revamping the format. Instead of reading the same book and doing a more in-depth review, we're going to focus on a general discussion of our current reads and chats about upcoming titles we're excited about.

This was kind of a spur-of-the-moment recording, so there are no show notes or links to books.

Things should only get better from here. :-)
